This community service program aimed to implement solar energy technology through photovoltaic (PV) systems as a renewable energy source to support the operation of a water pumping system during the post-disaster recovery phase in Ie Bintah Village, Manyak Payed District. The program was carried out through several stages, including community outreach, training on the operation and maintenance of the PV system, installation of the PV system integrated with a water pump, and continuous assistance and evaluation of the implemented system. The results demonstrated that the PV system could provide an independent and reliable power supply for the water pump and public lighting, thereby reducing dependence on the conventional electricity grid. The implementation of the program also improved the availability of clean water to meet the daily needs of the local community. Furthermore, the program enhanced community capacity in operating and maintaining the PV system through technical training and established a local management group to strengthen institutional capacity and ensure the long-term sustainability of the system. Overall, the implementation of the solar PV system made a positive contribution to restoring essential services during the post-disaster recovery phase, strengthening community energy resilience, and providing a replicable model for other disaster-prone areas with similar characteristics.
2026-06-16T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Eumpang Breuh : Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakathttps://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/ebjpm/article/view/15029Post-Flood Disease Prevention Education through PHBS and Mosquito-Net Distribution2026-07-15T10:18:57+00:00Muslimah Muslimahmuslimah@unsam.ac.idPuji Wahyuningsihmuslimah@unsam.ac.idTara Hawarymuslimah@unsam.ac.idPutri Angrainimuslimah@unsam.ac.idBalqist Auliamuslimah@unsam.ac.id
This community service program was implemented as an emergency response to post-flood conditions in Alur Nyamuk Hamlet, Matang Ara Village, Manyak Payed District. Post-flood environments may increase the risk of environment-related diseases, including diarrhea, acute respiratory infections, skin diseases, dengue fever, and leptospirosis due to stagnant water, disrupted sanitation, limited clean water access, and higher vector exposure. The program aimed to improve community knowledge of post-flood disease prevention, strengthen clean and healthy living behavior, and provide simple protective supplies such as mosquito nets and mosquito repellent to priority households. The method consisted of partner coordination, beneficiary data collection, procurement of logistics and educational materials, direct health education, distribution of mosquito nets and repellent, and simple utilization monitoring. The activity was conducted on 15 February 2026 and targeted flood-affected residents, especially vulnerable groups. The results indicate that the education session was implemented well, residents received practical information on disease prevention, and protective supplies were distributed to the intended beneficiaries. This program contributes to strengthening community health preparedness during the post-disaster recovery phase.
2026-06-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Eumpang Breuh : Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakathttps://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/ebjpm/article/view/14896Community Empowerment through the Utilization of Fruit Waste-Based Local Microorganisms (MOL) to Improve Aquaculture Pond Productivity in The Gampong Berdikari CSR Program 2026-07-15T10:02:22+00:00Salamah Salamahsalamahsalma@unimal.ac.idGolwinner Sihombingsalamahsalma@unimal.ac.idSisiliah Huswatun Hasanahsalamahsalma@unimal.ac.idMuhrizal Putra Gunawansalamahsalma@unimal.ac.id
This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of local communities in utilizing fruit waste as raw materials for the production of Local Microorganisms (MOL) to support sustainable aquaculture pond management in the Gampong Berdikari community empowerment program in Padang Sakti Village. Organic waste materials, including banana peels, papaya peels, pineapple waste, and coconut water, were utilized as nutrient sources in the MOL fermentation process. The implementation methods included socialization activities, training sessions, hands-on practice in MOL production, assistance in its application to aquaculture ponds, and evaluation of participants’ understanding and skills. The results indicated that participants were able to understand the process of MOL production and application and were capable of implementing it independently. The utilization of MOL has the potential to improve pond environmental quality by enhancing microbial activity involved in organic matter decomposition and water quality management. Furthermore, the use of fruit waste as a raw material for MOL adds value to organic waste that was previously underutilized. The program also increased community awareness of the importance of waste management based on local resources to support cost efficiency and the sustainability of aquaculture farming practices.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Eumpang Breuh : Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakathttps://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/ebjpm/article/view/15232Integrated Waste Management through a Circular Economy: Integrating Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries in the GESIT Program (Integrated Innovative Waste Ecology Movement)2026-08-23T02:10:20+00:00Rangga Pringga Yudharangga.yudha@pertamina.comAndi Ricoh Aditya Mahendraandi.mahendra@pertamina.comNindi Vou Rezkynindivourezky@gmail.com
The issue of urban waste generation, coupled with high poverty rates, poses a challenge to achieving sustainable development. Pangkalan Sesai Urban Village in Dumai City is one area facing this problem, where a significant portion of organic waste remains underutilized and ends up in temporary collection sites, leading to environmental pollution and the loss of potential economic value. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the circular economy concept through the Pangkalan GESIT Program (Integrated Innovative Waste Ecology Movement), which integrates waste management with the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors through community empowerment. A descriptive method with a case study approach was employed, utilizing field observations, interviews, documentation, and analysis of program implementation data. The results show that organic waste is utilized as a bioconversion medium using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae; this process yields maggot biomass as alternative feed for fish farming and poultry raising, as well as *kasgot* (BSF frass), which is used as organic fertilizer in agricultural activities. Poultry waste is managed via a deep-litter system to produce compost for crop cultivation, while inorganic waste is sorted and recycled into ecobricks and other economically valuable products. Implementing this model successfully reduced organic waste generation by 1,180.8 tons/year (47.9%) and inorganic waste by 243 tons/year (9.8%), lowered greenhouse gas emissions by 48.8%, and reduced air pollution by 2,065.5 kg/year for PM2.5 and 3,645 kg/year for VOCs. Beyond environmental benefits, the program enhances resource utilization efficiency, strengthens local food security, creates circular economy-based business opportunities, and builds community capacity in environmental management. Thus, the Pangkalan GESIT Program serves as an integrated, circular economy-based waste management model that sustainably integrates environmental, social, and economic aspects, offering potential for replication in other regions with similar characteristics.
2026-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Eumpang Breuh : Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat
