Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students because teachers have not used suitable learning models, there is a lack of learning activities that involve students, and the assessments used by teachers are inaccurate which causes low student learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to describe improvements Student learning outcomes in learning fine arts, craft materials from used plastic using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in class IV of SD Negeri 57 Payakumbuh City.  This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a qualitative approach and a quantitative approach. This research was carried out in 2 cycles through a research procedure consisting of 4 stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects in this research were teachers and students with a total of 13 people consisting of 7 male students and 6 female students. Data collection techniques used in this research were observation, tests and non-tests. The results of the research show an increase in fine arts learning, craft materials from used plastic from cycle I to cycle II, namely: (1) The teaching module aspect of cycle I, meeting I obtained a score of 79.17% (B), cycle I, meeting II increased to 87.5% (SB) and in cycle II it became 95.83% (SB). (2) The teacher aspect of cycle I, meeting I obtained a score of 78.12% (B), cycle I of meeting II obtained a score of 87.5% (SB) and cycle II increased to 93.75% (SB). (3) The student aspect of the first cycle of the first meeting received a score of 75% (B), the first cycle of the second meeting obtained a score of 84.37% (SB), and the second cycle increased to 93.75% (SB). (4) The learning outcomes for cycle I of meeting I obtained an average of 75.33 (B), cycle I of meeting II obtained an average of 83.03 and cycle II increased to 91.04 (SB). Thus, it is concluded that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model can improve student learning outcomes in learning fine arts, craft materials from used plastic in elementary schools.
