Abstract

The background of the problem in this study was to see the Effectiveness of Video Tutorial Media in Making Rose Flower String Art for Deaf Children at SLB Perwari, Padang. The problem that can be found is that the child has not been able to make rose string art which has never been taught to children before. The purpose of the research was to prove that the purpose of this study was to prove the effectiveness of the video tutorials in making rose flower string art for deaf children in class X at SLB Perwari  Padang. The type of research used is quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental by using a single group design is one group pretest-posttest, which uses as many as five deaf children as the subject. The abilities that can be assessed are the pretest and posttest which are processed and then compared using the Wilcoxon sign rank test. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest, it can be seen that the average value of the pretest is 57.60 and the average value obtained from the posttest is 84.60. As for the average value, which is then processed to find the difference by using the Wilcoxon sign rank test. So from the results of the data analysis obtained, namely Z count = -2.023 ᵇ and Asymp.sig (2-tailed) = 0.043, meaning Z count> Asymp.sig. (2-tailed) thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that the video tutorial media is effective in making string art of roses for deaf children at SLB Perwari, Padang. So if the results of this study can be used as material and consideration for the teacher to be able to use video tutorials in improving children's vocational skills, especially in teaching children how to make rose string art.
