Korelasi Antara Nilai SPT-N dan Kecepatan Gelombang Geser (Shear Wave Velocity) Dalam Bidang Engineering
Abstract
Geophysical method has been increasingly used in engineering especially in geotechnical investigation. This method provides a large data coverage, time effectiveness, non-invasive and less cost compared to traditional borehole test. This research will aim at the correlation of engineering parameter, standard penetration blow count test (SPT-N) with shear wave velocity in determining the strength of soil. The study area was located into two different area and geological setting. First study area was conducted at Sungai Batu, Kedah, Malaysia while the second study area was located at complex Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. The results indicate that the SPT-N values are linearly related to the shear wave velocities for both study area. The relationships are being described with coefficient of determination.
