Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Pendapatan dan Tingkat Kesejahteraan Peternak Domba (Ovis Aries) di Kecamatan Hamparan Perak Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

Research on the factors that affect household income and welfare is compelling because both farmers and academics need to understand how much production factors influence the income and welfare level of sheep farmers. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the income of sheep farmers and their welfare level in Hamparan Perak Sub-district. The research used a descriptive analysis method with a quantitative approach through a survey of 35 samples. The research results show that there is a significant partial effect (t-test) of feed costs (X₁) at 0.000, farming experience (X₂) at 0.199, number of livestock owned (X₃) at 0.002, and selling price of sheep (X₄) at 0.007 on the income of sheep farmers (Y) in Hamparan Perak Sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency. The simultaneous effect (F-test) of feed costs (X₁), farming experience (X₂), number of livestock owned (X₃), and selling price of sheep (X₄) shows a significant value of 0.000 (< 0.05), which concludes that the independent variables have a significant simultaneous (combined) effect on the dependent variable. The study also indicates that the welfare level of the 35 sheep farmer respondents in Hamparan Perak Sub-district, falls into the prosperous category based on the criteria of the Central Statistics Agency (2014). This study concludes that feed costs, farming experience, the number of livestock owned, and the selling price of sheep have a significant partial and simultaneous effect on the income of sheep farmers in Hamparan Perak Sub-district. The welfare level of the sheep farmer respondents in Hamparan Perak Sub-district is already in the prosperous category, based on BPS (2014) criteria.
