en-USBetween Prestige And Importance: The Reason Why The British East India Company Survived In Bengkulu, 1685-1825
https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/13398

Taufik HidayatFebta Pratama

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/13441

In the 16th to 18th centuries, the Acehnese spice trade played an important role in the provincial economy. It connects it with international trade routes through the Straits of Malacca. As intermediaries in the spice trade, Chinese brokers play an important role in connecting Aceh with global markets, including China, India, and Europe. This study explores the role of Chinese brokers in the dynamics of the spice trade and how this interaction affects Aceh's position in international trade In this study uses the Historical method, involving the analysis of historical events through a systematic series of actions. It begins by gathering secondary historical sources, including Books and Articles in Journals. After that, source criticism is done to ensure that the information obtained is genuine and credible. The study found that Chinese brokers helped accelerate spice trade routes and strengthen Aceh's economic ties with other countries, strengthening Aceh's position in the global trade network.
Ahmad FajriRadiatul Adawiyah

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/13730

Urwatil WusqaAslam NurAjidar MatsyahIkhwan Ikhwan

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/14085

This study discusses corruption during the colonial period as portrayed in the film Max Havelaar (1976), focusing on social criticism toward the role of indigenous elites. The aim of this research is to explain how the film presents corruption as part of the colonial power system involving cooperation between colonial authorities and local elites. This study uses a qualitative method through a literature review and film analysis. The analysis applies Stuart Hall’s Representation Theory, Antonio Gramsci’s social criticism theory, and Homi K. Bhabha’s postcolonial theory. The findings show that corruption in the film is not only carried out by colonial rulers but also involves indigenous elites who act as intermediaries of power. This research contributes to understanding the historical roots of corruption through film as a medium of social criticism and historical reflection.

Justin Raja Guk GukDefitri PurbaLayla MutiaraHidayah WahyuniNur HasanahSarida SaridaAngel Lita Purba

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/14111

The Green Revolution is a concept of modern input-based agriculture adopted by Indonesia during the New Order era to increase and accelerate production in the agricultural sector. This study aims to chronologically describe the implementation process of the agricultural intensification program and its correlation with the dynamics of rice productivity in Ngawi Regency during the New Order period. In line with national objectives, this intensification was intended to increase food crop production amidst growing population numbers. The intensification project was carried out by referring to five main efforts, including: the use of selected seed varieties, pest control using pesticides, the use of chemical-based fertilizers, the development of irrigation infrastructure, and land management improvements. This study uses an empirical analysis method based on two main sources: annual BPS (Central Statistics Agency) report data and references from scientific works related to the implementation of the Green Revolution in Indonesia. The study's conclusion confirms that the application of modern inputs resulted in fluctuations in rice production in Ngawi Regency. These findings fill a gap in the scientific literature that has not yet addressed the specific historical aspects of the Ngawi case. In this study, it is universally acknowledged that modern inputs successfully increased rice agricultural yields in Ngawi; however, based on several recent research findings, the Green Revolution has significantly contributed to the emergence of future ecological problems. Therefore, to present an accurate historical narrative, this study implicitly recommends that further in-depth research be conducted to enrich agricultural knowledge, particularly in Ngawi.

Keywords: Green Revolution, paddy crop productivity, Ngawi Regency

Abdul Fikar KhajarMukhamad Shokheh

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/14009

This article analyzes Rateb Bejalan in the Tamiang Malay community as a collective ritual that links human relations, the environment (nature), and God within the framework of Triloka/Tri Patrit aesthetics, which emphasizes this triadic relationship. This ritual is performed during the last week of the month of Safar for three consecutive nights through a procession of walking while chanting zikir from the boundary to the end of the village, with the aim of seeking divine protection, warding off danger, and praying for the protection of nature and the environment. This study uses a qualitative-interpretative approach based on literature review and analytical reading of the description of the ritual stages (deliberation, village cleansing, use of torches and tauhid flags, and closing feast). The analysis utilizes classical ritual anthropology: Durkheim to explain how collective rituals strengthen solidarity and renew collective consciousness; Turner to interpret the procession as a liminal situation that gives rise to communitas; and Geertz to read the zikir, banners, and procession as a symbolic system that shapes the religious atmosphere and drives social action. Interpretive findings show that the aesthetics of Rateb Bejalan are not merely about the beauty of form, but rather a socio-emotional mechanism that organizes the vulnerability of Safar into meaningful order, strengthens communal cohesion, and affirms the ethics of human-nature balance under the principle of monotheism.
Elisa SuherrySunarmi Sunarmi

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/14101

During the New Order era, the Indonesian government introduced the Green Revolution concept as an effort to increase agribusiness sector yields with the goal of food self-sufficiency. In the livestock sector, the Green Revolution was adopted into a program called Panca Usaha Ternak (PUT). This study seeks to expose the dynamics of government program realization during the New Order period. The method in this study involves an analysis of literature sources relevant to the theme of milk production in Indonesia, specifically during the New Order period. This study uses primary and secondary sources. The primary sources of this study use data from the BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics) and the Livestock Service of Central Java Province, while the secondary sources consist of books and articles in several journals. In determining relevant sources, verification steps were carried out by comparing various types of data obtained. This study found the fact that in Semarang Regency, there was a significant surge in milk production and an increase in the dairy cow population, especially after the issuance of the Joint Decree (SKB) of three ministers in 1983. Nevertheless, in 1998, IMF intervention caused the absorption ratio regulation to be forcibly abolished by the government
Chabibul WahabMukhamad Shokheh

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/11776

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of nationalism in fostering social integration amidst ethnic diversity in Langsa City, Aceh. Langsa is inhabited by various ethnic groups with distinct cultural backgrounds, presenting challenges related to social conflict due to identity differences. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participatory observation, the study reveals that nationalism functions as a moral and social foundation capable of uniting a multi-ethnic society. Consistent with Anderson’s (1983) view that nationalism is an “imagined community” with a powerful social adhesive effect, nationalist values such as love of country, a spirit of togetherness, and respect for diversity strengthen solidarity and tolerance among residents. Furthermore, active community participation in national events serves as an effective medium to reinforce social cohesion. Although challenges such as prejudice and stereotypes persist, inclusive nationalism proves to be a strategic instrument for managing diversity and achieving social harmony. These findings have important implications for the development of educational and social policies that support national integration in other multi-ethnic regions.
Eko SusiloSiska Eka Syafitri

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/14118

This study aims to present the active involvement of women in the defense system of the Aceh Sultanate from the sixteenth to the early seventeenth century, particularly within a maritime context. The article examines the role of Acehnese women in maritime defense dynamics, analyzes the strategic function of Inong Bale Fort as part of the coastal defense system, and explains its significance as a symbol of women’s strength, courage, and resilience. This research employs a qualitative approach using field observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies conducted in Gampong Lamreh, Aceh Besar Regency. The data obtained were analyzed using a descriptive-interpretative approach, employing maritime archaeology and gender theory in historiography to understand the social, military, and symbolic roles of women in the context of Acehnese history.. The findings indicate that Inong Bale Fort functioned not only as a coastal defense structure against maritime threats but also as a center for training, organization, and management of the Inong Bale women troops under the leadership of Admiral Malahayati. The existence of this fort demonstrates that Acehnese women held a strategic and significant position within the military and maritime systems of the Aceh Sultanate, while also challenging historiographical narratives that have traditionally privileged male-centered perspectives.
Azkia ArufaMunawiah AbdullahMarduati MukhtarHusaini Husda

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/14433

This study aims to analyze the meaning of the Ngirim Banyu tradition, which reflects local wisdom in the lives of the Claket Village community. The methodology used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive design. Data were obtained through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with key informants such as the village head, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and community members, as well as documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and interpretation, while ensuring data validity through source triangulation. The research findings indicate that the Ngirim Banyu tradition reflects local wisdom values from four perspectives. From a religious perspective, this tradition serves as an expression of gratitude to God for the gift of water. From a social perspective, it strengthens solidarity through collective participation. Culturally, Ngirim Banyu is a time-honored tradition rich in symbols and meaning. Meanwhile, from an ecological perspective, this tradition fosters awareness of the need to preserve water sources. A unique finding of this study lies in the strong integration of spiritual values and ecological awareness within a single traditional practice. Unlike similar traditions, Ngirim Banyu is not merely ritualistic but also serves as a means of fostering concrete behavior in environmental conservation, particularly regarding spring water sources In a cultural context, this tradition serves as a way to transmit values and norms that regulate community behavior from generation to generation. From an ecological perspective, this tradition reflects a shared awareness of preserving water resources based on cultural values. Furthermore, the management of water resources through local institutions demonstrates the interconnectedness between social, cultural, and economic aspects of community life. These findings confirm that the Ngirim Banyu tradition is not only symbolic but also a socio-cultural system that contributes to maintaining a balanced relationship between humans, the environment, and the social structure of society.
Maziyya AlmamduhIftitahur Rohmah AlrohmaniyyahYhora Okmadhani WijayanaRizky Putri Eswanto

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/14821

Kerentanan meningkat setelah krisis 1929 ketika penurunan harga komoditas ekspor menekan perdagangan lada Lampung.
Myristica ImanitaYusuf PerdanaRinaldo Adi Pratama

Social Studies (IPS) learning requires a contextual approach so that students are able to understand social phenomena in real life. However, in practice, IPS learning still tends to be theoretical and does not optimally relate the material to everyday life. This study aims to analyze the use of the Ngirim Banyu tradition in Claket Village as a source for IPS learning, specifically for the social mobility material for grade VIII. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods through literature review and analysis of local wisdom values. The results show that this tradition contains social values in the form of mutual cooperation, solidarity, concern for the environment, and religious values that are relevant to the concept of social mobility and social diversity. In addition, this tradition reflects the relationship between social, cultural, and economic aspects of society that can be used as a concrete example in IPS learning. Its use as a learning resource has the potential to improve students' contextual understanding, strengthen character values, and encourage active participation in learning. Thus, the integration of local wisdom in IPS learning is an effective strategy to realize meaningful learning that is relevant to students' social environment.
Berlian ApriliaTrio Utami Trio UtamiElsa Wahyu NabawiSugiantoro Sugiantoro

https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/jsnbl/article/view/14832

Rieko Romario ZairullohSutiyah Sutiyah

Ahmad Syaifuddin Nur WahidWahyu Sri Mukti LestariIsna Febi Nur AzizahMuhammad Arief Labibur RohmanAndhita Risko Faristiana
