Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various types of connection and the concentration of coconut water on the success of grafting durian shoots and the interaction between the two treatments. This research has been carried out at CV HutanKu, Birem Bayen District, East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province with an altitude of ± 10 m above sea level. To describe the growth of durian seedlings, observations were made on the time of emergence of buds, percentage of success, seedling height, number of leaves, seedling diameter and leaf length. The type of connection has a very significant effect on the time of shoot emergence, seedling height at 8 MSG and leaf length at 6 and 8 MSG and a significant effect on the percentage of success parameters, the number of leaves aged 6 and 8 MSG and no significant effect on parameters for height of seedlings aged 4 and 6 MSG, diameter of seedlings aged 4, 6 and 8 MSG, number of leaves at age 4 MSG and leaf length at age 4 MSG. The best observation results were obtained in the T1 (Wedge Connection) treatment. The concentration of coconut water had a very significant effect on the time of shoot emergence, the percentage of success, the height of seedlings aged 8 MSG, the number of leaves aged 6 and 8 MSG, leaf length aged 6 and 8 MSG and had no significant effect on the parameters of the height of seedlings aged 4 and 6 MSG, diameter seedlings aged 4, 6 and 8 MSG, leaf number and leaf length 4 MSG. The best observation results were obtained in the K3 treatment (100% coconut water concentration). The interaction between the type of connection and the concentration of coconut water had a significant effect on the percentage of success parameters and had no significant effect on other parameters. The best observation results were obtained in the T1K3 treatment (wedge joint and 100% coconut water concentration). In accordance with the results of this study to get the best durian growth it is recommended to use wedge grafting and a concentration of 100% coconut water.
