Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) or better known as sweet corn began to be developed in Indonesia in the early 1980s, commercially cultivated on a small scale to meet the needs of hotels and restaurants. Sweet corn is one of the main sources of carbohydrates and protein after rice. Sweet corn has been cultivated by the community for a long time. In line with the increase in people's purchasing power, the demand for sweet corn which has high economic value also increases so that it has the opportunity to be developed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving mycorrhizae and watering intervals on the growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) on drought stress soils. The design of this study used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) which consisted of two factors, consisting of 11 observation parameters, namely plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, harvesting age, weight of cob cobs, weight of cobs without corns, length of cobs, length of roots, fresh weight of roots, production per plant and production per hectare. The results showed that the provision of mycorrhizae and the interval of watering had a significant effect on root length and root fresh weight.
