Abstract

Regency of Tangerang has vast agricultural area and the most planted crop is rice. Rice is the most planted crops in Tangerang regency because rice is main food source for the people. Hence, it is necessary to carry out regional analysis for better rice development in Regency of Tangerang. The purposes of this research are to analyze rice comodity growth, rice comodity competitiveness, regional basis of rice comodity, characteristic’s distribution of rice comodity and regional specialization characteristic of Tangerang Regency. The analysis used in this research are shift share analysis (proportional growth component and proportional share region growth component), location quotient (LQ) analysis, localization analysis, specialization analysis. The data used are data of rice production and others crop production in Regency of Tangerang from 2016 – 2020. The results are rice experienced slow growth. There are 19 districts that rice has high competitiveness i.e. District of Cisoka, Solear, Tigaraksa, Jambe, Cikupa, Curug, Kelapa Dua, Legok, Pasarkemis, Sindang Jaya, Balaraja, Jayanti, Sukamulya, Kronjo, Kemiri, Rajeg, Sepatan, Pakuhaji and Teluknaga.There are 19 basis districts i.e. District of Cisoka, Pasarkemis, Sindang Jaya, Balaraja, Jayanti, Sukamulya, Kresek, Gunung Kaler, Kronjo, Mekar Baru, Mauk, Kemiri, Sukadiri, Rajeg, Sepatan, Sepatan Timur, Pakuhaji, Teluknaga and Kosambi.The distribution characteristic of rice production is decentralized. There are no district that specialize in the rice.
