Abstract

Banana is a horticultural commodity that has quite promising potential in business, the relatively large volume of national banana production proves that banana is the main product of horticulture. Banana smoked is a traditional food that is very popular among the people of Aceh, especially the production of banana smoked which mostly comes from the north Aceh area. The smoking method using firewood and coconut shell is a traditional banana sale processing process. The purpose of the study was to analyze the marketing and marketing efficiency of banana smoked in Panton Labu District, North Aceh. The research used survey method. The sample of artisans is 30 people, village traders are 5 people and retailers are 25 people. The results of the research on marketing of banana smaoked in Panton Labu District only use 2 marketing channels. The average marketing cost of banana smoked in Panton Labu District is Rp. 3,200/Kg in channel I and Rp. 1,500/Kg in channel II. The average marketing margin of banana smoked in channel I is Rp. 13,000/Kg, channel II is Rp. 9,000/Kg. The average farmer's share in the banana smoked marketing in channel I is 62.8% and channel II is RP.74.29%. The marketing of banana smoked in Panton Labu sub-district on channel I produces an EP value of 9.14% and it is concluded that banana smoked marketing on channel II is said to be inefficient because the EP value is above 5%. Marketing of banana smoked in Panton Labu sub-district on channel II produces an EP value of 4.29% and it is concluded that banana smoked marketing on channel II is said to be efficient because the EP value is below 5%.
