Abstract

The role of developmental psychology in improving the effectiveness of learning in the independent curriculum is very important. The Independent Curriculum is designed to provide space for students to develop according to their potential and developmental stage, with a flexible and student-centered learning approach. Developmental psychology helps educators create an environment that supports students' motivation, social skills, and emotional development, so that they can increase their involvement in the learning process. The results of the study show that understanding student development can increase learning motivation, social-emotional skills, and the effectiveness of learning evaluation. This research method uses qualitative with a literature study approach to determine the problems and focus of the research. The data collection process was carried out by searching for relevant literature using certain keywords on platforms such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and university libraries.
