Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of the integrated thematic learning process using the contextual teaching and learning approach in class V SDN 06 Padang Laweh Malalo. In this study, this type of classroom action research (CAR) is applied using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects of this research were teachers and students of grade V, amounting to 20 people. The results showed an increase in: a) RPP Cycle I with an average of 79.16% (Enough) and cycle II 94.4% (Very Good), b) Implementation of the teacher aspects of cycle I with an average of 82.81% (Good) and the second cycle 97% (Very Good), while the implementation of the student aspect in the first cycle with an average of 71.66% (Enough), and 96% in the second cycle (Very Good). Based on these results it can be concluded that the contextual teaching and learning approach can improve the integrated thematic learning process in class V elementary schools.
