In teaching and learning activities, students are currently more teacher-centered, so that students are less independent in acquiring knowledge. Students also tend to be less active, learning feels monotonous, in the teaching and learning process some students still do not have the ability to think creatively and also tend not to ask questions, so this can improve their creative thinking skills and students actively ask questions in the learning process, then teachers can use the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model in integrated thematic learning in every primary school. In this research has used a research method, namely literature study. The technique of collecting data is by reviewing the relevant journals according to the research problem and supplemented by various kinds of reference book sources. The data analysis was carried out by connecting the relevant theories with the researcher's conceptual problems obtained. So the results obtained are that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is proven to be able to provide an effective improvement in integrated thematic learning in elementary schools.
