Abstract

This research is motivated by low student learning problems, where learning is still centered on the teacher, students have not been actively involved in the learning process, it is less visible discovery learning by the students themselves. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning using the Discovery Learning model in Class IV SDN 09 Sungai Limau, Padang Pariaman Regency. This type of research is a classroom action research using qualitative and quantitative approaches. This research was conducted in the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The research subjects were 16 grade IV students, the researcher acted as a practitioner, the class teacher acted as an observer. The research was conducted in II cycles, namely cycle I consisting of 2 meetings, and cycle II consisting of 1 meeting. The results showed that the increase in the RPP cycle I obtained an average of 83.33% with good qualifications (B), increased in the second cycle to 94.44% with very good qualifications (SB). The average value of the teacher's aspect in cycle I was obtained 78.15% with sufficient qualifications (C), increasing in cycle II 93.75% with very good qualifications (SB). While the average aspect of students in cycle I was obtained 78.15% with sufficient qualifications (C), increasing in cycle II 93.75% with very good qualifications (SB). The average value of student learning outcomes in cycle I was 72.47% with good qualifications (B), increased in cycle II, namely 82.28% with very good qualifications (SB). So it can be concluded that using the Discovery Learning model can improve student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning in Class IV SDN 09 Sungai Limau, Padang Pariaman Regency.
