Abstract

The research was motivated by the problems encountered in schools, where children with learning difficulties were experiencing problems in learning the side-to-side multiplication count operations using the GASING method. Thus, the purpose of this research is to prove the effectiveness of the GASING method to improve the multiplication count operation ability for children having difficulty learning grade IV at SD Nengeri 147 / VIII Bogorejo, Muara tebo. Experimental research using Quasi Experimenal Design. The research model chosen in the quasi-experimental design was the one group pretest and posttest design using the Wilcoxon test. The research subjects were children with learning difficulties who had problems in the side series multiplication count operation using the GASING method. For hypothesis testing, the research used statistical tests. From the results of the calculation, it is concluded that the value of Zhitung> Ztabel, the value is 6.6> 1.645 in the 5% significant level, therefore Ha is accepted by Ho is rejected. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that learning with the GASING method is effective in improving understanding of multiplication counting in children with learning difficulties at SD Negeri 147 / VIII Bogorejo, Muara Tebo. So Ha accepted Ho was rejected
