Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of interactive multimedia in improving the articulation of bilabial consonants /b/ with the subject is children with hearing impairment grade III in SLB Bina Sejahtera Mandiri. The method used in this research is Single Subject Research method A-B-A design with three stages and analyzes with graphic visual analysis technique. This study was conducted 18 times, the first stage is to observes the ability of articulation of bilabial consonants /b/, this stage done 6 times. The second stage is observes the ability of articulation of bilabial consonants /b/ for a child when given a treatments by interactive multimedia, this stage done 8 times. The last stage is observing the child ability after a interactive multimedia no longer given, this stage done 4 times. Based on research that has been done found that the ability of articulation of bilabial consonants /b/ deaf children experienced a significant increase after the intervention through interactive multimedia. This can be proven fromen the result of the mean level at the baseline 1 obtained 21,66%, the intervention obtained 87,5% and the baseline 2 obtained 97,5%, it’s means that interactive multimedia gives a positive influence on the articulation ability of bilabial consonants /b/ for children with hearing impairment.
