Persepsi Orang Tua Dalam Mengenalkan Protokol Kesehatan Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) Kepada Anak Tunagrahita Di SLB Negeri 1 Painan

Abstract

This research is motivated because of the problems experienced by mentally retarded children in SLB Negeri 1 Painan, namely there are still mentally retarded children who have not implemented the Covid-19 health protocol properly and correctly. This study aims to determine the perceptions of parents in introducing the Covid-19 health protocol to mentally retarded children. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The results of this study prove that parents have a perception that mentally retarded children have the ability and knowledge of the Covid-19 health protocol which consists of, using personal protective equipment, cleaning hands regularly, maintaining a minimum distance of 1 meter, implementing healthy living behaviors, and protection of public health. This is obtained based on the results of the respondents' answers from the parents of mentally retarded children through a questionnaire.
