Abstract

The background of the research is the lack of student interest in writing, students do not understand the material, especially the structure and linguistic features in writing imaginative story texts, students find it difficult to issue ideas / ideas in composing sentences. Fourth, in learning the teacher only explains so that he is less motivated in writing imaginative story texts. This study aims to describe the skills of writing imaginative story texts in seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pancung Problem Pesisir Selatan Regency without using the Picture and Picture model, to describe describing the skills of writing imaginary story texts in seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pancung Problem Pesisir Regency. South by using the Picture and Picture model to describe the effect of using the Picture and Picture model on the skills of writing imaginative story texts in class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Pancung Problem, Pesisir Selatan Regency. This type of research is quantitative using a quasi-expremental research method. The research population was all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pancung Question. The research sample was students of class VII 4 as the control class and students of class VII 5 as the experimental class. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that. Without using the picture and picture model, the students' imagination story writing skills were 66.67 with more than enough qualifications (LdC). By using the picture and picture model, the students' imagination writing story text skills are 81.25 with good qualifications (B). There is an effect of using the picture and picture model on the students' imagination story writing skills based on the t-test with a significant level of 0.05. Thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that tcount is greater than ttable, namely 5.24 > 1.67
