Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of optimal implementation of integrated thematic learning carried out by teachers, so that it has an impact on the low learning outcomes of students in class IV SDN 04 Garegeh City of Bukittinggi. This study aims to describe the increase in student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning with the Problem Based Learning Model in class IV SD Negeri 04 Garegeh Kota Bukittinggi.

This research was carried out using the Problem Based Learning model in class IV SD Negeri 04 Garegeh City of Bukittinggi. The subjects of this research were teachers and students of grade IV, totaling 24 people. The approach used is a qualitative and quantitative approach. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles, cycle I consisting of 2 meetings, and cycle II consisting of 1 meeting. Each cycle includes four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, tests and non-tests.

The results of the study showed an increase which can be seen as follows: a) analysis of the preparation of lesson plans in cycle I showed an average of 81.5 (B) and cycle II became 94 (A), b) The implementation of the teacher aspects of cycle I averaged 82, 25 (B) and cycle II 96 (A), while the implementation aspects of students in cycle I averaged 82.25 (B) and cycle II became 93 (A), c) Assessment of student learning outcomes in cycle I obtained an average -average 77.5 (C) and cycle II average 92 (A). Based on these results it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can improve student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning.
