Abstract

Testing of a water turbidity detection device based on an ATMega 8535 microcontroller has been carried out using a turbidity sensor consisting of a photodiode sensor component, infrared LED, LCD, and Buzzer. The working principle of this tool is to detect water objects by utilizing the light emission produced by LEDs which is transmitted to the photodiode sensor. The light emission received depends on the water quality. The photodiode sensor readings differ depending on the type of water due to the reduced light emission received when the water is cloudy. Changes in the resistance value of the photodiode will be forwarded to the micro ATMega 8535, an ADC is needed to convert the analog sensor system signal to digital so that the data is generated and displayed on the LCD. The test tool will be used on several types of dissolved samples.
