Dekomposisi Mineral Dolomit Melalui Proses Kalsinasi

  • Nirmala Sari

Abstract

Dolomite potential contained in the village of Wonosari Aceh Tamiang still has sales in the form of rocks, without detailed investigation investigations that have implications for increasing the added value of dolomite itself for this reason there needs to be research on the mineral content in order to be used as much as possible, structured planning needs to be done by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) to look for data sources on minerals and X-Ray Fluorescences (XRF) content, also carried out the calcination process at temperatures of 700 °C and 900 °C to see the decomposition of the dolomite. From XRF analysis, the constituent of dolomite with the highest concentration is CaO (.69,44%) followed by MgO (27,42%).  Then, in the process of calcining the formation of MgO and CaO phases of dolomite through two stages, namely the stages of the formation of MgO and CaCO3 phases at 700 °C and the stages of CaO formation at 900 oC.
