The Analysis Of Serpentinite distribution in Kuta Cot Glie, Aceh Besar based on rock chargeability
Abstract
Kuta Cot Glie is one of the areas which is the distribution route for serpentinite rocks in the Aceh Besar region. These rocks, which are rich in serpentine minerals, are present in nature along with other intrusive-igneous rocks. Knowing the information in regard to the distribution of serpentinite rocks are important. Besides being able to know the distribution of rock or outcrops. Also, being be able to estimate the thickness of the rock or outcorps. For this reason, a study was carried out using the Induced Polarization Method (IP Method) to determine how the distribution of serpentinite rocks through the chargeability contrast analysis obtained there. The chargeability value are allowed to inform mineralized rocks well. Based on the results, serpentinite rocks are represented by a moderate chargeability contrast with a chargeability value of 5 msec. Serpentinite rocks or serpentinite outcrops can be seen clearly scattered beneath the surface with shallow depths and varying thicknesses, reaching 5 m, 20 m, 27 m, 30 m and 60 m.
