Dinamika Perubahan Tradisi Boyongan Di Desa Turipinggir, Kecamatan Megaluh, Kabupaten Jombang(1980-2022)

Abstrak

Javanese people believe that preserving traditions is very important to do by holding religious rituals so that the values of local wisdom in an area are maintained, one of which is the boyongan tradition. The purpose of this study is to examine information about the meaning of the boyongan tradition, to find out the dynamics of changes in the boyongan tradition in Turipinggir Village, and to find out the factors that cause these changes. This research is a type of qualitative research using the historical method (Historical) which is a research method that aims to examine historical events either in the literature or directly to the field, the steps are 1) Heuristics. 2) Criticism. 3) Interpretation. 4) Historiography. This research shows the results that the boyongan tradition is a slamatan that is carried out when going to occupy a new house. Along with the development of time, the boyongan tradition in Turipinggir Village has changed, among others, related to the equipment, community participation in the tradition, and changes in the implementation process. This is due to two factors, namely internal and external. Internal factors include new discoveries, the development of education, and the development of religious understanding in the community. External factors include contact with other regions or cultures and the development of science and technology.
