Eumpang Breuh: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate authorship practices, citation manipulation, or other forms of publication misconduct.
Submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism-detection software or other appropriate methods. Similarity reports are used as supporting evidence and are not, by themselves, conclusive proof of plagiarism. Editors will assess the nature, extent, context, and attribution of any identified similarities.
When suspected misconduct is identified, the editorial team may request clarification or supporting documentation from the authors. Depending on the findings and severity of the violation, the journal may reject the manuscript, request revisions, publish a correction, retract an article, or notify the relevant institution or other appropriate authority.
Peer Review and Editorial Decisions
All research and community service manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to editorial screening and peer review in accordance with the journal's review procedures. Manuscripts are assessed for relevance to the journal's scope, originality, methodological quality, clarity of presentation, significance of the community service outcomes, and compliance with publication ethics.
Reviewers provide recommendations to the editor, while the final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection rests with the editor or authorized editorial board member. The journal aims to ensure that editorial decisions are fair, evidence-based, and free from conflicts of interest.
Conflicts of Interest and Funding Disclosure
Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence their work. Financial support, grants, institutional assistance, and other relevant contributions must be clearly acknowledged in the manuscript.
Editors and reviewers must also disclose conflicts of interest and refrain from participating in decisions or reviews when their impartiality may reasonably be questioned.
If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should include an explicit statement declaring that they have no conflicts of interest.
Human Participants, Community Consent, and Privacy
Because the journal publishes community service activities involving diverse communities, authors must respect participants' rights, privacy, dignity, cultural values, and local knowledge.
Authors must obtain permission from relevant institutions, community representatives, or other authorized parties when required. Informed consent must be obtained where applicable, particularly when collecting personal information, conducting interviews, documenting identifiable individuals, or publishing photographs and other materials that could reveal participants' identities.
Authors must protect confidential information and avoid presenting participants or communities in a misleading, discriminatory, or harmful manner. Ethical approval or other formal authorization must be obtained when required by applicable regulations or institutional policies.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors must remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical acceptability of their manuscripts, including content produced with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
AI tools must not be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the manuscript. Authors who use AI tools for substantive content generation, data analysis, image creation, or other relevant research and writing activities must disclose such use when required by the journal's applicable policies and explain the nature of the assistance where appropriate.
AI-generated or AI-assisted content must not be used to fabricate data, references, research findings, participant statements, or evidence of community service outcomes. Authors must verify the accuracy of all AI-assisted content and ensure that confidential or personally identifiable information is not improperly disclosed to external AI systems.
Editors and reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts or review materials to AI tools in ways that compromise confidentiality, privacy, or intellectual property.
Corrections, Retractions, and Post-Publication Issues
The journal recognizes its responsibility to maintain the accuracy of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns arise after publication, the editorial team will assess the available evidence and determine the appropriate action.
Minor errors that do not affect the validity or interpretation of an article may be addressed through a correction. Retraction may be considered when findings are unreliable due to significant error or misconduct, or when serious ethical violations have occurred. Expressions of concern may be issued when an investigation is ongoing and the available evidence warrants notifying readers.
Corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern must be clearly identified and linked to the relevant article whenever technically possible. Authors are expected to cooperate with the journal in resolving legitimate post-publication concerns.
Complaints and Appeals
Authors may submit reasoned appeals against editorial decisions or raise complaints concerning the editorial process, peer review, authorship, or publication ethics. Complaints must be submitted to the editorial office with relevant explanations and supporting evidence.
The editorial team will assess complaints and appeals fairly, impartially, and confidentially. Where necessary, the editor may consult independent experts or relevant institutions.
