Abstract

This study aims to explain the increase in the problem solving ability of students’ speed and discharge using the Polya strategy in class V SDN 13 Bangko Solok Selatan. This type of research is a classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects of this study were teacher as observer, researchers as practitioners and 12 grade V students of SDN 13 Bangko Solok Selatan. The results showed an increase in the average problem-solving ability of students’ speed and discharge in cycle I 67,75% to 91,17 in cycle II. The results of the observation of the learning implementation plan in cycle I from 85,00% to 95,00% in cycle II. The results of observations of aspects of teachers and aspects of students in cycle I were 81,25% to 95,83% in cycle II.
