THE IMPORTANCE TO PUT THE ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION INTO ONE OF THE SUBJECTS IN INDONESIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Abstract
The ability of humans to communicate using a language is shaped by their understanding of the language's sounds, words, phrases, and sentences, as well as its meaning and cultural factors. Language knowledge is linked to a person's capacity to correctly pronounce the sound system in a certain language so that the speech is understandable. This writing discusses how crucial to put in English pronunciation as one of the lessons in elementary school since there are seen common mispronunciations among Indonesian students. Hopefully, involving the pronunciation as a subject could reduce the misunderstanding among both native speakers and non-native speakers and is able to advance the English fluency to Indonesian students.
