Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of thematic integrated learning process in theme 8 with the Discovery Learning (DL) model. The approach used is qualitative and quantitative approaches. The type of research is classroom action research (PTK). Where this research was conducted on the fourth grade students of SDN 22 III Koto, amounthing to 17 people consisting of 7 male students and 10 female students. The technique used was observation and testing. The results of the research from the planning perspective showed that there was an increase from the first cycle, namely that the steps contained in the lesson plans had not been carried out, increasing in cycle II, each of the steps in the lesson plans had all been implemented in implementation. In the learning process, it was seen that there was an increase in teacher activity from the first cycle whose average achievement was 85,94%, increasing to 93,75% in the very good category (SB) in cycle II. Also seen an increase in student activity from cycle I whose average achievement was 84,38%, increasing to 93,75% in the very good category (SB) in cycle II.
