Abstrak
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of positive affirmations in reducing academic stress among university students. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of 10 Psychology students from the 2023 cohort. The intervention was carried out through a training program using positive affirmation cards, conducted over four sessions within two weeks. Data were collected using the academic stress questionnaire developed by Wulandari (2014) based on the theoretical framework of Sarafino and Smith. Data analysis was performed using the paired sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS version 25.0. The results showed a decrease in academic stress scores from 77.40 (pre-test) to 61.80 (post-test). The obtained t-value was 3.363, with a significance level of 0.008 (p < 0.05), indicating that positive affirmations are effective in reducing academic stress among students.
