Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Article Writing Instructions

The articles that will be submitted to the Jurnal Jeumpa are original research that makes quite a novel contribution to the field of science and biology education. Authors are asked to submit articles electronically using the Jurnal Jeumpa online submission procedure. The corresponding author must also declare that the submitted manuscript is not simultaneously being considered for publication elsewhere. Editors will ignore submissions that do not follow this procedure.

Article Structure

Title: The title should be clear and informative and should be no more than 14 words

Author's name and institution: The author's name, written without an academic degree, must be accompanied by the complete address of the author's institution, as well as the email address of the corresponding author.

Abstract and keywords: Abstracts are written with from 150 to 250 words. The abstract must contain objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Please provide the abstract in English and Indonesian versions. Keywords should be 3 to 5 words or phrases written sequentially (It is recommended to use keywords that are not in the title).

Introduction: This section explains clearly the background of the problem studied in the research, a review of previous research that has been conducted, the novelty of the research conducted compared to existing research, and a clear statement of the objectives of the research conducted. 

Method: In this section, the author needs to briefly explain the type of research, time and place of research, research instruments, population and sample, data retrieval/collection techniques, and data analysis techniques carried out.

Results and Discussion: In this section, research sub-results and discussion are written separately (except in the Literature Review). In the research sub-results, the author must explain the results/findings obtained from the research. Results/findings can be strengthened by presenting tables/graphs/images. In the sub-discussion, you must explore the novelty obtained based on the results of the research carried out. The author also needs to discuss the findings of the research conducted compared to previous research. 

Conclusion: In this section, the author concludes and provides policy implications, if any, of this research. The conclusion is written in one paragraph that focuses on answering the objectives of the research.

Acknowledgments: In this section, Athor is allowed to express his thanks to the parties involved in funding/permitting/support in carrying out the research.

References: In this section, the author lists the papers, books, or other types of publications referred to in the body of the manuscript in APA style writing format, accompanied by the DOI/URL of each reference used.
