Author Guidelines

Welcome to Katalis: Jurnal Penelitian Kimia dan Pendidikan Kimia. We invite submissions of original research articles, reviews, and educational studies in the fields of chemistry and chemistry education. To ensure a smooth submission process and maintain the high quality of our journal, please adhere to the following guidelines.

1. Submission Process

  1. Online Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted through our online submission system at https://ejurnalunsam.id/index.php/katalis/about/submissions. Please register as an author and follow the instructions to upload your manuscript.

  2. Initial Screening: Submitted manuscripts will undergo an initial screening to ensure they align with the journal’s scope and meet basic formatting requirements.

2. Manuscript Formatting

  1. Document Type: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

  2. Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 11-point font size, and single-spaced throughout. Set margins based on template .

  3. Title Page: Include a title page with:

    • Manuscript title (bold, centered)
    • Authors’ full names and affiliations
    • Corresponding author’s email address
    • A concise abstract (150-250 words)
    • Keywords (3-5)
  4. Headings and Subheadings: Use clear, descriptive headings and subheadings. Main headings should be bold and centered. Subheadings should be bold and left-aligned.

  5. References: Follow the APA style for citations and references. Ensure that all citations in the text are included in the reference list.

  6. Figures and Tables: Insert figures and tables in the text where they are first mentioned. Use high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi) and ensure clarity. Provide captions for all figures and tables.

3. Ethical Considerations

  1. Originality: Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism will result in immediate rejection.

  2. Human and Animal Rights: For studies involving human participants or animals, ensure compliance with ethical standards and provide relevant approval statements.

  3. Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research.

4. Peer Review Process

  1. Review Type: Katalis employs a double-blind peer review process. Ensure your manuscript does not contain identifying information about the authors.

  2. Review Timeline: The review process typically takes 4-6 weeks. Authors will be notified of the decision and may be asked to revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback.

5. Revisions and Resubmissions

  1. Revisions: If revisions are requested, submit the revised manuscript along with a detailed response to reviewers' comments. Clearly indicate any changes in the revised manuscript.

  2. Resubmission: Resubmissions should be made through the online submission system. Include a cover letter addressing reviewers’ comments and outlining revisions.

6. Permissions

  1. Copyright: Authors must obtain and provide evidence of permission for any copyrighted material included in the manuscript, including images and tables.

  2. Open Access: Katalis operates under an open access model. Authors retain copyright but grant the journal the right to publish and disseminate their work.
