Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that students are not enthusiastic in learning props, especially science, it can be seen when the learning process students do not understand the learning that has been conveyed by the teacher, students spend more time with their friends than they pay attention to the teacher in the learning process. This study aims to determine what factors cause difficulties in learning science in fifth grade students at SDN 05 Pasar Tiku Tanjung Mutiara and what are the impacts or consequences of learning difficulties in science on students. The results showed that the factors that caused difficulties in learning science in students consisted of two factors, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include intellectual or student intelligence based on interview analysis data, students feel not involved in science lessons, students lack interest, enthusiasm and feel bored in learning science, students' physical and physical conditions, and are not confident, external factors based on parents based on the analysis of interview data, parents do not provide sufficient facilities for learning science, school factors and playmates. The impact or consequence of these factors is that the science value of students is low and there are still many who experience misconceptions about the concept of science, especially the concept of disorders of the blood circulation which has the highest level of misconception of 65%, while students who understand the most about the concept of how plants adapt to the percentage of 40% and those who do not understand the highest on the concept of using green plants 70%. The study illustrates that there are still many students who have missions and do not understand the concepts learned based on interview data, students are not enthusiastic when learning science, students feel bored learning science, students cannot understand science material well, students avoid science lessons
