Post-Publication Handling: Erratum, Corrigendum, and Retraction
JURUTERA: Jurnal Umum Teknik Terapan
Faculty of Engineering – Universitas Samudra

As part of our commitment to academic integrity and publication transparency, JURUTERA provides post-publication correction and withdrawal mechanisms in the following forms:

1. Erratum and Corrigendum

Both are forms of corrections to published articles:

  • Erratum refers to corrections of errors made by the publisher (e.g., formatting, metadata, layout issues).

  • Corrigendum refers to corrections of errors made by the author (e.g., data inaccuracies, figures, or misleading content).

These corrections are published as a separate document referencing the original article, and a revised version may be uploaded if necessary. All corrections are made with the author’s acknowledgment and editorial approval.

2. Retraction

A retraction may occur when an article is found to contain:

  • Plagiarism,

  • Data fabrication or falsification,

  • Significant methodological flaws,

  • Duplicate publication,

  • Or other ethical violations.

Retraction may be:

  • Full retraction (entire article is withdrawn and inaccessible),

  • Partial retraction (only specific invalid parts such as a figure or conclusion).

Retracted articles will be labeled "RETRACTION" in the title and metadata. The file will no longer be downloadable but will remain listed in the journal archive along with an explanation.

3. References and Best Practices

This policy refers to guidelines from:

  • National Library of Medicine (NLM),

  • COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics),

  • ANJANI – Indonesian Academic Integrity Portal (http://anjani.ristekbrin.go.id),

  • and publications such as:
